Western Digital is seeking a Sr. HRIS Workday HCM Lead to be part of the global HRIS team to automate, integrate and configure our core HR processes within Workday. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, HRIS, this individual will play a key role to in defining how Workday optimizes HR processes and enables an amazing employee experience, each of which are critical elements in our journey to become a high impact HR organization.

  • Serve as the configuration lead for Workday HCM, Compensation (Advanced) and Benefits (Open Enrollment) modules. 
  • Good understanding of Workday object model and security to effectively use it to define segregation and visibility for various groups. 
  • Drive implementation of large Workday initiatives like Annual Merit/Focal. Compensation/Promotion Review process, Open Enrollment and Performance Management. 
  • Translate Workday solutions in simple business terms and effectively collaborate with cross functional teams to identify solutions for unexplored areas within the HR domain. 
  • Participates in Workday initiatives by assisting with business requirement gathering, business process review, project management (except for large initiatives), testing, training and change management. 
  • Manage project deadlines with other team members and IT to stay on schedule and execute implementations and releases. 
  • Research and resolve Workday challenges, unexpected results or process flaws; perform scheduled activities; recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. 
  • Keeps current on HR system trends and be fully engaged with discussion with user groups to stay ahead of changes planned in the ongoing Workday release management cycle. 
  • Extremely active in the Workday user community and exploring non-traditional ways to solve business issues by automating/configuring core HR processes in Workday. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR or MIS (Information systems) or related discipline. 
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience working with HR and IT systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with Workday HCM, Benefits (OE), Advanced Compensation, Security, Reporting and EIB. 
  • Experience implementing an Annual Focal/Merit/Promotion/Bonus/LTI compensation process within the Workday Advance Compensation module. 
  • Experience leading system changes and migrations to support ongoing M&A. 
  • Experience with managing Workday Absence and Talent Management (Performance Management, Goal Setting, Succession Planning) is a plus. 
  • Experience with multiple Workday implementations in a global environment is preferred. 
  • Able to effectively partner with IT and non-technical customers to understand user needs and translate needs into technical process and configuration requirements. 
  • Strong problem solving/analytical skills with attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. 
  • Experience in a fast-growing, technology organization, preferably SaaS product delivery. 
  • Work in a dynamic global organization by balancing multiple priorities.  
  • Able to work both independently and with cross-functional teams using good judgement. 
  • Experience working a public company and familiarity with SOX compliance a plus. 
  • Proficient in Excel and managing data. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
