  • Lead and/ or actively contribute to RLC (Rapid Learning Cycle) projects in HDD and SSD business units.
  • Work closely with ABPs (Analytics Business Partners), functional subject matter experts and key stakeholders to clarify expectations and problem/ data understanding.
  • Propose ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) solutions to enhance efficiency of engineering analyses.
  • Perform advanced analytics and predictive modeling and recommend solutions to improve yield, increase operational efficiency or avoid capital spending.
  • Develop algorithms for image anomaly detection and defect classification across an array of manufacturing operations.
  • Develop APC (Advanced Process Control) solutions with time-series sensor data across different factory operations.
  • Provide assistance as needed to take value demonstration of RLC projects to value capture.


  • Candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science and 5- 7 years working experience or a Graduate Degree with 3-5 years working experience.
  • Must have at least 2 years’ work experience in data storage industry and must be familiar with recording technology.
  • Knowledge of HDD, and SSD function, with an in-depth knowledge in one more sub-functions such as Head, Media, HDD/SSD BE operations, Assembly, Testing, Servo, RSS, Firmware, etc.
  • Experienced in data mining, analytical methods (e.g., supervised and unsupervised classification, image analysis, time-series analysis) and usage of common data analytics tools (e.g., JMP, SAS, Python, R etc) to analyze large data sets.
  • Knowledge of Big-Data environments and cloud computing (e.g., AWS, BDP Edge)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to manage project timelines, lead teams, present findings, and track action items to closure.
  • Strong Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Positive attitude towards learning on-the-job and strive in a rapidly changing environment.
