Western Digital's Client Solutions group is responsible for WD’s consumer digital media and storage solutions, including the award-winning My Cloud devices.  Our Milpitas, California-based team is developing the application software that drives these solutions, enabling users to see and share their music, pictures, videos, and documents anywhere and anytime. Whether your screen is a mobile phone, tablet, television, or computer, it’s easy to enjoy the content in your WD personal cloud.  To continue delivering on our vision, we are looking for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Sr. Technologist to join our Software QA team!


  • Drive the automation strategy definition and implementation for WD connected products.
  • Help build the automation team and develop best practices to shorten regression cycles.
  • Bring focus and expertise around performance testing for all products.
  • Align automation priorities to maximize value to the organization and improve time to market.
  • Develop processes to identify escapees and build the feedback loop to the engineering organization.
  • Help grow the organization development practices and transition to Agile methodologies
  • Collaborate closely with peer managers and leadership to track dependencies and optimize cycles
  • Motivate, coach and mentor team members and track delivery to plan
  • Hands on and deep dive into discussions with engineers
  • Bachelor's/Master degree in Computer Science/Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in software engineering management
  • Experience automating Platform, REST API, Cloud Services and Client apps
  • Experience with test automation tools such as TestNG, TestRail, JMeter, JUnit
  • Experience with programming and/or scripting languages such as Java, Go, Perl, Python etc.
  • Experience testing Android, Linux based system, applications or Storage devices
  • Expert in software quality and testing methodologies
  • Experienced in interacting and coordinating test activities amongst multiple teams
  • Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-managed, and highly-motivated
  • Extensive experience working on multiple projects at a time in a fast paced, results oriented environment
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent debugging/troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication skills
