As a Sr. Pricing Manager, you will be supporting the Sales team in driving opportunities, with existing and new logos, by providing pricing guidance for deals, system configuration support, including pricing, deal structure, ensuring proper approvals and maintaining deal documentation.  This position includes improving the deal process flow by providing requirements to IT for systems enhancements.  This position also entails providing competitive pricing analysis, strategic pricing support such as designing pricing promotions and ensuring IT systems enhancements have the needed functionality.
 
Western Digital is primarily a devices company but started a systems business unit and is investing heavily in its growth.  The business unit will be the engine of growth for WDC and provide a strategic imperative of “moving up the stack” in knowledge and customer-intimacy.  This dynamic environment provides an opportunity for an energetic Pricing Analyst to grow and contribute to the business unit’s success. 

You will collaborate with the Sales Teams, Business Operations, Forecasting, IT, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Accounting, as well as other internal stakeholders.  There will be frequent opportunities to lead meetings with VP’s in the organization.

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Function as the point of contact and subject matter expert for Sales on deal pricing matters
  • Quick and accurate pricing responses to Sales teams
  • Ensuring deal pricing meets business unit objectives
  • Provide accurate and insightful competitive pricing analyses with key competitors for Product Management and Product Marketing
  • Ensure IT execution of business requirements for CPQ systems
  • Projects such as assessing the impact of tariff changes, competitive pricing, pricing promotions, products that need price adjustments, and other ad hoc analytical projects
  • Drive adherence to internal controls, protocols and business rules while still respecting individual customer needs
  • Maintain a focus on continuous process improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency and training while implementing time/resource saving solutions for scaling revenue
  • Work with the field Sales Teams, Product Management, Management, Legal and Accounting to ensure negotiated deals are in alignment with company policies
  • Reporting of deals- won/loss, quoting volume, profitability, regional trends
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related area of study and/or 5-7 years of experience in Pricing and/or Sales Operations supporting deals
  • Experience with business case development, price modeling
  • Must be able to respond to sales teams’ requests within agreed upon SLA
  • Strong and active listening skills and overall communication skills, both written and verbal to understand and address customer and sales teams needs
  • Work well in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to be responsible, flexible, accountable and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, adapt and prioritize to meet deadlines
  • Keeping track of multiple deals in flight at the same time
  • Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications- Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience with CPQ systems and Special Pricing request processes is desired
