  • Responsible for working with all internal departments (Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, Operations, etc.) as the focal point for all questions and issues that relate to customer program qualifications.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams which bring distinct specific projects to completion, is key to success in this role.
  • The Customer Program Manager works with outside sales.
  • They may also be in close contact and direct communication with customers.
  • They will be managing various projects for customers (NPI, technology transitions, overall customer satisfactions, etc.).
  • Internally, the Customer Program Manager takes ownership and leadership to ensure that all deliverables are provided on-time and programs are closed with a successful Design Win.
  • A technical background and understanding, especially in the storage industry, is highly desirable, since working and building relationship with teams will be required for success.
  • The Customer Program Manager guides internal teams to make the appropriate decisions while ensuring that partnerships are maintained with customers. In tandem, they drive customers to make decisions that are consistent with Western Digital policy and vision (including increasing the bottom line).
  • Customer Program Managers also serve as a liaison between the customer and Western Digital’s product life cycle management teams.


  • BS/BA degree or equivalent with 5 or more years of related experience in account management or program/project management.
  • Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills are required and Technical background a plus.
  • Experience working with an international company is a plus.
  • Travel, including international, will be required.
  • The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment and is self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people.
  • A proven desire to work as a team member is essential.
  • The ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems is a must.
  • The ideal candidate also has the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, has excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
