ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Delivery of license analysis and optimization solutions across multiple vendors, manage the delivery of different SAM services and software license expertise for various software publishers used within WD enterprise
  • Guide 3rd party licensing industry experts through the process of data gathering and analysis for software asset management engagements and produce clear and accurate reports to present the findings to the WD executive team. To be able to identify commercial compliance, business risk opportunity and to possess the skills to communicate at an executive level. Provide support to junior team members and develop their skills. Delegate to more senior members of the team as required
  • Ensure that ITAM-related tools and services are properly evaluated, selected, implemented, configured, integrated with other sources of organizational data and maintained going forward
  • Participate in developing effective ITAM strategies, policy, approaches and practice across the full range of digital technology assets used within the organization
  • Develop reporting on progress of remediation of noncompliance risks and progress of optimization activities and opportunities pipelines
  • Coordinate ITAM related application owner training and communication relating to utilization of ITAM applications, processes and policies. (Identify utilization assessment and reduction opportunities using companywide communication tools (Smartsheet survey/ Connect announcements and ITAM policy pages, and find more ways to improve communication coverage that helps reduce licensing maintenance and software ownership costs, etc.)
  • Act as an expert on license compliance, entitlement and deployment rights after coordinating with procurement and legal if/when appropriate
  • Plan and implement IT asset life cycle strategy. Advise procurement and IT Operation in procurement strategies for IT acquisition
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the following complex Top Tier Vendors: IBM, Oracle, SAP, Quest, Microsoft, TIBCO, Dassault Systems, SAS/JMP, Atlassian, etc. with a working knowledge of many more complex vendors. Help build inventory tools for Flexnet type of licensing where appropriate (Solidworks, JMP, Mathworks, TOAD, etc.). Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of data center infrastructure and its impact on software licensing
  • Understanding of ISO standards (ISO-19770), ITAM/HAM/SAM certifications, ITIL, ITAM discovery and tools experience (SCCM/SNOW/Flexera/Aspera/ServiceNow SAM)
