As an R&D Engineer you will take a leading role in building proof of concepts and early prototypes systems in areas such as software defined storage and/or networking, enterprise storage solutions, data analytics, machine learning, persistent memory software architectures, etc.  Your role will involve embedded system architecture, design and software (firmware) implementation, host software stack implementation, application prototyping, software support for new hardware, etc. You will be required to interact and coordinate with a global team across multiple geographies including US, Japan, Europe, Israel and India.​



·         Ability to independently code and work in new or large-scale codebases (E.g., Linux kernel, storage systems, databases, etc.)


·         Deep understanding of system programming and ability to understand underlying data structures.


·         Statistical analysis of data


·         Familiarity with literature in various fields, such as storage, distributed systems, database systems, etc.


·         Publications and patents demonstrating the preceding requirements are highly desirable.


·         Assess requirements for design of new device drivers or operating system modules.


·         In depth expertise in ‘C’ OS level development. Will be used to implement drivers and other platform level software.


·         Use scripting languages, most likely bash and python, to implement higher level configuration software.


·         Needs the ability to debug complex software issues both in a kernel or user environment.


·         Develop technical documentation that can be used to educate support engineers on new features or fixes.




·         Graduate level degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related

·         Programming languages (C/C++) and familiarity with unix scripting

·         8-10 years of experience

·         Linux kernel development




·         Hands on experience with aspects of configuration management and performance tuning.

·         A high skill level at programming in C for optimized systems.

·         The ability to contribute towards specifications to satisfy design requirements and write code according to such specifications.

·         Proficiency with debug tools.

·         Exposure to developing drivers that interact with hardware.

·         Have been responsible for technical jurisdiction in software projects




·         Must be a good listener, creative, intuitive, a problem solver and have the ability to resolve problems in potentially stressful situations.

·         Must be an independent and adaptive team player.

·         Excellent communication skills and able to discuss technical topics either written or oral.

·         Candidate will be self-motivated, customer oriented, resourceful and enthusiastic.

·         Ability to develop and effectively communicate business cases and justifications to internal and external stakeholders as required to drive business forward.
