ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and drive engineering organization that includes Device Collateral and Big Data groups.
  • Execute roadmap on various technology generations to provide design teams with Device Collateral deliverables: Geometrical Design Rules (GDR), Electrical Design Rules (EDR), compact (SPICE) models of all devices used in integrated circuits (transistors, diodes, passive elements, etc.).
  • Support design with physical layout lithography compliance simulations (LCC) and OPC checks to ensure product manufacturability form lithography prospective.
  • Drive CMOS roadmap and development of peripheral CMOS transistors to meet 3D NAND electrical and geometrical specs and technology targets for performance, power and reliability.
  • Drive development of a wide variety of test structures (TEG – Test Element Groups) that would allow to develop, characterize and optimize key aspects of process and device, hence optimize GDR, EDR, CMOS as well as memory cell.
  • Drive new device-design architectural solutions that would allow competitive advantage.
  • Enhance capabilities and develop new efficient techniques and simulation capabilities in device modeling and LCC/OPC.
  • Provide all necessary support from technology, process, device side to enable and assure successful tape-outs (T/O) of designed products, and data base transfer for Mask making.
  • Lead and drive Big Data teams, develop Big Data HW and SW infrastructure, develop and achieve a broad use of Big Data techniques, ML and AI applications to enhance efficiency of technology development, as well as improve 3D NAND products on cost, performance and reliability.
  • Work closely and enhance collaboration between teams in WDC across geographies (e.g. US and Japan), as well as with the teams of our technology partner KIC.

REQUIRED:

  • MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Applied Physics/Materials Science or equivalent with focus on semiconductors.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in semiconductor technology, device and/or process development, and experience in Big Data methodologies.
  • Track record in leading and driving technology development teams and achieving success.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to run extensive communications and work cross-functionally with R&D teams and development groups in Milpitas, US and Yokkaichi/Yokohama, Japan.
