  • Support PR managers with core media relations functions including: materials development, planning, media outreach, monitoring, reporting, reviews and events
  • Collaborate and communicate with multiple cross-functional teams to align on content and campaigns
  • Proactively target, pitch, and secure media coverage for Western Digital
  • Support regional teams in providing content for media outreach
  • Identify trends within the media landscape, sharing them with the team and recommending pivot strategies based on these trends
  • Use metrics and analytics to build business case, provide insight
  • 3+ years of public relations/media relations experience in a large company or an agency
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication and presentation skills. News writing knowledge and background
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Experience in media relations, including press material development, pitching regional and national outlets and PR planning
  • Demonstrated knowledge of traditional print and broadcast media at a national level as well as social/new media technology
  • Energetic, creative, positive and proactive. Works with a sense of urgency. Manages projects requiring the position to direct, lead, influence and negotiate with others
  • Excited to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work with a large number of stakeholders and manage deadlines on multiple projects
  • Represent the company appropriately to members of the media and other outside organizations
  • Provide clear direction to and gain cooperation from other internal staff or outside agencies involved in projects this position is responsible for managing
  • Strong analytical skills to make data-driven decisions. Deals with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
