WD NVMe SSD products must be validated in house to assure that products shipped will meet OEM quality requirements.  We need an experienced Device verification Test (DVT) PRINCIPAL engineer to understand NVMe SSD’s system design and firmware algorithms in order to create a firmware/Protocol design verification plans and implement them in modern object oriented languages

  • Responsible for defining and tracking test plans through product development cycles from EVT through customer qualification and MP.
  • Monitor regression and qualification test cycles, perform first level FA and triage of failures, prepare and present testing statistics, and work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to drive issues through closure.
  • Research and implement innovative ways to test/validate PCIe SSD’s.
  • Lead bug review meetings.
  • Act as gatekeeper for product release to customer.
  • Work closely with the system architects and the firmware team to develop design verification plans, test bench and test cases.
  • Develop an overall firmware validation strategy including defining validation infrastructure and validation methodology.
  • Debug the firmware and expose design issues.
  • Define and design functional tests required to meet customer needs.
  • Review Western Digital NVMe SSD validation requirements and influence future SanDisk product design for debug and test.
  • Work with customers to understand field bugs and to enhance the validation coverage.
Interface with all key stakeholders to ensure product validation meets customer expectations and needs





  • BS(EE,CS) + 5 years of relevant experience or MS(EE,CS) + 3 years of relevant experience.
  • The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people.
  • A proven desire to work as a team member, both on the same team and outside of the team. Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex problems.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
