This is a Photolithography Process Development Engineer position in Western Digital Wafer Fab at Fremont. In this position, you will be responsible for developing advanced photolithography wafer processes that meet requirements for next generation magnetic head fabrication. Advanced process development tasks will include, developing robust photo processes to support new design features; driving CDU and overlay improvement; performing photo material evaluations; reticle, layout and OPC development.

  • Work as a Photolithography Process Development Engineer in the Wafer Development group at Western Digital wafer fab in Fremont 
  • Drive R&D Photolithography Process technology roadmap
  • Job requires interfacing with engineers and scientists in process and integration groups
  • Document and communicate process development plans, status, and results in written reports and presentations
  • Document procedures, communicate results with development team, and transfer developed processes to manufacturing partners
  • Work with materials and equipment vendors to introduce new photolithography materials, equipment/processes to enable next generation magnetic head fabrication
  • Optimize wafer yield, failure analysis, and performance through photolithography process techniques
  • M.S/Ph.D. in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Physics with 3+ years of photolithography experience, but any qualified candidate will be considered
  • Candidate must be self-motivated, innovative, detail-oriented and have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of optics including the principles and application of 248 or 193 lithography
  • Experience with ASML XT or TEL coating tool/process is a plus
  • Experience with lithography simulation software and application to OPC mask design
  • Experience with one or more of the following a plus: Metrology, material characterization techniques, RIE, semiconductor and/or magnetic head wafer processing and integration, Machine learning techniques, knowledge in Data visualization software
  • Proficient in statistics, data analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE)
  • Excellent teamwork and people skills are required
