The Western Digital Media Test Engineering team is on the market for a Test Process Engineer who is highly motivated to work in a challenging and dynamic engineering environment. The test team is responsible for the development and implementation of hardware/software/process/automation solutions in R&D environment and implementing those solutions at worldwide manufacturing sites.
  • Process test engineer is responsible for qualifying new media test processes with respect to glide test, magnetic certification test and optical test in the pilot line environment.
  • Responsible for generating test specification for various engineering builds, monitoring the test results and providing feedback to the process teams.
  • Work with the hardware and software design teams to qualify and debug new features and design, generate reports, etc.
  • Transfer new testing processes to Asia manufacturing sites and work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues related to test processes.
  • Work with end users and cross functional teams to develop and maintain data analysis tools using dashboards for various manufacturing and pilot line systems. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics Engineer preferred).
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools like Spotfire, SAS, QMF, etc with excellent data analytical skills
  • The candidate should be a fast learner with hands on skills. The candidate must be proficient in oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, etc.
  • The candidate will be required to work closely with manufacturing sites in China and Malaysia and some travel may be required.
