Western Digital is looking for an Enterprise/Commercial Media Relations Manager to play an integral role on our dynamic public relations team. The ideal candidate will be a news obsessed, trend focused, always curious, data-driven media communications manager with experience in the enterprise and commercial technology categories. Working across communications, marketing, engineering and product teams, you will lead programs designed to earn coverage in business and trade outlets to improve awareness and preference for Western Digital’s products and technologies. Domestic or international travel may be required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as primary media contact for Western Digital’s products and technologies.
• Develop and implement media strategies, plans and programs from conception to completion.
• Be creative and strategic in the development of programs and pitch angles designed to garner earned media coverage with business and technology trade media outlets
• Play key role in special events, media events, briefings, program implementation
• Use metrics and analytics to build business case, provide insight
• Collaborate and communicate with multiple cross-functional teams to align on content and campaigns
• Support regional teams in providing content for media outreach
• Develop full range of written materials including press releases, pitches, byline articles, case studies, correspondence and reports
• Work with spokespeople in media interviews, manage their appearances and contribute appropriately
• Identify trends within the media landscape, sharing them with the team and recommending pivot strategies based on these trends

• 6+ years of agency or in-house PR/communications experience working with enterprise technology media
• Strong, reliable, current relationships with media and influencers.
• Excellent writing, editing, communication and presentation skills. News writing knowledge and background.
• Energetic, creative, positive and proactive. Works with a sense of urgency. Manages projects requiring the position to direct, lead, influence and negotiate with others
• Excited to work in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
• Ability to work with a large number of stakeholders and manage deadlines on multiple projects.
• Represent the company appropriately to members of the media and other outside organizations
• Previous experience managing agencies is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
