The Manager, Ethics and Compliance Operations plays a key role in ensuring that the Company’s Ethics & Compliance team operates smoothly and supports the needs of Western Digital’s business units.  The Manager will report to the Associate General Counsel, Ethics and Compliance Operations.

  • Working with Legal Department Operations to assess departmental needs, identify and implement systems, tools, and technology, and drive innovation of Ethics and Compliance operations
  • Project managing and substantively contributing to Ethics and Compliance Operations initiatives, such as questionnaires, surveys, and revisions of policies and other documents
  • Managing internal process for assessing employee requests to Ethics and Compliance and directing them to the right team for substantive handling
  • Supporting and reporting on outside counsel and vendor engagement sourcing, spend, and effectiveness
  • Assisting with management of the global Ethics and Compliance budget including regular spend analysis and reports
  • Supporting annual plan creation, goal setting, goal tracking, business updates, and planning of team meetings and activities
  • Developing and implementing online and paper filing systems for Ethics and Compliance department, coordinated to department budget system
  • Coordinating Ethics and Compliance translations, including managing internal check translations
  • Working with Legal Department Operations to maintain internal team intranet site, team roster, and access to internal corporate resources

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • 4+ years in-house or law firm experience in the areas of legal or ethics and compliance project management and/or legal or ethics and compliance operations
  • Paralegal certification a plus
  • CCEP or similar certification a plus
  • High competency in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel (including V-lookups and pivot tables)
  • Strong understanding of docket management and document management best practices
  • Ability to work effectively with management
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Self-motivated and proactive; takes the initiative to recognize needs, anticipate issues, and solve problems
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and tasks in a fast-paced environment, including focusing when needed on the matter at hand
  • Strong work ethic and ability to produce high quality work product under deadline pressures
  • Ability to work effectively in a global environment, including sensitivity to cultural differences
  • Position requires little to no travel
