We are seeking highly motivated students to be a part of our Launch program.  These full-time paid roles are designed to jump start your career, offering on-the-job and supplemental training and a robust mentorship program.  You get to work alongside the brightest minds in the industry to drive the innovation necessary to outpace new demands and challenges created by data.

Entry-Level Graphic Designer (NCG)

 The qualifying candidate:
  • Produce marketing assets on site. Will take directions, work closely with, and report into the Design Manger, while collaborating with a team of Marcom managers.
  • Completed at least 3 months of internship in related fields (marketing/design/ production)
  • Is familiar with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Is proactive and asks for feedback
  • Is receptive to critique
  • Wants to understand the “why” in what we do
  • Works well with people in a fast-pace environment and believes in teamwork
  • Is confident with a dose of humility
  • Is a fast learner and is able to take directions
  • Passionate about good work ethics and effective communication
  • Perform production work according to specifications under the supervision of the Design Manager or the leadership of a Sr. Designer (eg. Resize an image, re-purpose an asset, edit/prepare artwork for print)
  • Develop marketing assets according to instructions for Western Digital Corporate brands
  • Create assets including, but not limited to, packaging, events and tradeshow materials, marketing collateral, displays, product images, email and landing page designs, web banners, social media artwork, and ads
  • Deliver design and artwork that is aligned with each individual brand
  • Present design concept to the design manager in a professional and approachable manner
  • Work under the direction of the manager to produce quality work that is on time, on target and meets business objectives
  • Current student, pursuing a degree in graphic design, graduating between December 2019 and June 2020
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical skills in area of study
  • Interest in HDD, flash, semiconductor, components, nonvolatile memory industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications 
  • Basic proficiency in in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC, InDesign CC) and Microsoft Office in a Mac environment
  •  Good problem-solving approach
  • Good organizational skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills
  • Applicants must show past design/production work (schoolwork accepted) to be considered.
