Job-Title: HRIS Workday Specialist 


Job Description:


•The HRIS organization is committed to help the business achieve its

strategic objectives in performance and growth.

•Western Digital is looking for an experienced Workday HRIS consultant

to join our growing HRIS team reporting to the Senior Manager of HRIS. 

•As a key member of the team, you will be responsible to work with new

features within Workday and extend its capabilities , triage and address

incoming requests and issues, provide support for analysis/testing, and

develop new features in Workday modules with a focus on Compensation, Absence and Reporting configuration. 

•You’re passionate, energetic, and love a fast-paced team environment. You’re a collaborative team player with an attention for detail and want to

contribute to the overall success of a team. 

•You have a strong desire to learn new skills and enjoy working with

systems, tools and processes. When faced with obstacles, you proactively seek the best resolution for your immediate team and the

business. You are professional with have strong communication skills. 

•You’re self-motivated, have the ability to multi-task, and can quickly and

efficiently respond to support inquires. 

•You have good experience with Workday and are looking to learn more.


Responsibilities:

•Provide expertise in multiple modules in the Workday HCM suite (HCM

Core, Compensation, Benefits, Absence, Reporting, Talent and Performance) 

•Lead the following as a member of a deployment team: 

-Gather and document global business requirements.

-Design and configure the Workday solution

-Demonstrate configurations through the development of prototype systems.

-Assist in testing the Workday solution.

•Take the lead in HRIS team projects through execution of testing, dataloads, etc.

•Assist the integration team in testing integrations between Workday and other third-party or custom solutions 

•Mentor as well as coach others on product knowledge 

•Resolve complex tasks/requirements when other team members need support 

•Triage, diagnose, and assign/resolve issues originating from end-users, business process events, etc

•Collaborate and communicate effectively on team-based projects 

•Facilitate intellectual and practical adoption of Workday best practices 

•Provide regular status reports to the project managers keeping them apprised of overall project status 

•Innovate and suggest new approaches and tools to deploy Workday efficiently and effectively 

•Maintain Workday certifications and qualifications 

•Ensure functional solutions are compatible with downstream data

translation (assist integrators in configuring/testing integrations between Workday and external systems) 

•Demonstrate computational thinking. Identify problem components, analyze patterns, remove inefficient configurations or processes, and construct algorithmic solutions scalable to ongoing Western Digital’s needs

•Contribute to and mold a culture of continuous education among your colleagues, mentees, and managers - serve as a professional role model.


Preferred Qualifications: 


•4+ years implementing at least one of the following HCM solutions: HCM Core, Compensation, Absence, Reporting, Talent and Performance and Benefits 

•Expertise in Workday configurations in one or more of the following areas: 

 Compensation, Absence, Reporting

•Preferred experience maintaining systems that support complex organizations covering multiple geographies

•Experience in SAP/ Oracle/PeopleSoft/ADP in similar applications with HCM module /domain expertise is welcome as far as the candidate demonstrates ability to learn Workday technology quickly through instruction and self-training

•Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience 

•Previous consulting experience with a consulting/software company 

•Ability to interact at all levels of the Business organization and passion for providing exceptional customer service

•Functional human resources experience 

•Ability to effectively manage against timelines and goals 

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
