As Manager, Channel Business Management, you will have responsibility to support the Channel business management organization of AME (Automotive, Mobile & Embedded) flash based storage segment. This role will involve working with customers, distributors, sales and customer facing teams, product management and eco-system partners to define and execute to mid-term strategies to grow Western Digital’s AME Channel segment. 

 

  

You will report to the AME Channel Business Manager at Western Digital. This position requires an individual with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience that includes working closely with embedded storage customers & relevant distribution channel partners, as well as various industry partners. It is required that candidate has some background and previous success in setting and executing channel and go to market strategies. It is preferred that candidate have knowledge of embedded flash based storage technologies and markets as well as key eco-system partners. Candidate should have a proven track record of interacting with technical and commercial audience at customers.  Experience in sensing, and articulating short to mid-term technical trends, understanding customer pain points, customer and market needs and converting the same into go forward strategy is of critical importance. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • Developing & executing Go-To-Market strategies & financial plans to establish Western Digital as a channel leader in AME flash based storage segment
  • Develop a deep understanding of embedded flash storage infrastructure market trends and Influence customer’s roadmap with respect to storage portfolio to deliver to segment strategy
  • Identify key customer needs and pain points and work with product management & software ecosystem teams to convert into product requirements and ensure they are incorporated into the roadmap
  • Bring in segment specific customer inputs and validate assumptions for business planning and develop segment specific mid-range plans, validate business case assumptions and develop segment and customer level strategic pricing/positioning
  • Identifying key channel partners to best deliver products to market & develop and grow the business
  • Develop & maintain marketing collateral – presentations, competitive positioning, blogs, whitepapers
  • Interface with customer to promote WDC products / solutions into customer's target applications by positioning WDC value proposition and technology and product attributes and to drive customer wins
  • Develop & maintain market model for AME customers / partners
  • Deliver actionable insights to Sales organization driving sales results

 

 

 

REQUIRED:

 
  • Bachelor’s &/or Masters Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or related fields
  • 5-10 years Business Management experience
  • Flash based storage experience, business/pricing & technology
  • Distribution Channel and eCommerce experience
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge
  • Ability to grasp complex technical, marketing, and business issues and quickly propose and deliver pragmatic solutions
  • Resourceful, creative, diligent, and able to follow up and make things happen with colleagues and co-workers across many disciplines. Must be a problem solver
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and work well with sales, engineering, production, and procurement departments
  • Ability to present across all levels of management
  • Proficient in todays common business tools & applications
  • Travel is expected to trade shows, industry forums, & customer/partner sites
