This is a management position for Capacity Enterprise Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Recording Sub-Systems (RSS) Read-Write Integration (RWI) Manufacturing (MFG) Firmware (FW) group.

  • Act as a people manager for a group of firmware engineers
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff
  • Provide performance feedback
  • Act as a technical team member within SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
  • Experience in developing firmware using Agile / Lean mindset
  • Responsible for developing firmware features that support the RSS goal of increasing device capacity while maintaining or improving reliability performance and cost. The scope includes all HDD Enterprise products from Staging to End-Of-Life
  • Responsible for firmware code required in Manufacturing to optimize read-write channel and screen or monitor heads or media based on read-write performance
  • Technical understanding of recording sub system optimization for capacity in HDDs.
  • PhD or M.S. in Science (physics, EE, material science …)
  • 5+ years’ experience, or 10+ years’ experience in the HDD industry in relevant domains.
