The successful Electronics Integration Engineer candidate will join a storage electronics development team working on HDD products. HDD electronics incorporate a broad range of technologies including: SAS and SATA host interface standards, ARM microprocessors, and DDR2 & DDR3 memory controllers.
  • Bring up and validation of the controllers (SoC/ASICs), working with the Firmware team to ensure that new hardware features are correctly implemented and getting to root cause for all  electronic hardware failures during the  staging phase for drive programs developed in the US.
  • SoC integration engineers have a system level knowledge of HDD products and the ability to use a structured approach to troubleshoot complex problems involving multiple engineering disciplines.
  • They need to be proficient in using a Debugger such as Arium, Lauterbach or Green Hills.
  • They also need to have excellent communication skill as they work closely with Design and Firmware engineers when getting to root cause for Electronic issues.
  • Familiar with working in a team using a structured approach such as Lean to solve problems. .  Ability to provide clear and concise summaries of complex topics for upper management. 
  • Bachelor degree in EE or CE requires
  • 3-5 years of experience within HDD is desired but not required.
  • Knowledge and experience with technologies such as: SAS, SATA, ARM, DDR2 & DDR3 DRAM.
  • Proficient with lab bring-up methods and tools including: Niagara, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
  • Proficient with basic scripting and programming techniques including: C++, Visual basic, Perl, and tcl.Strong Communication, especially the ability to provide clear and concise summaries of complex topics.  
  • Ability  to read RTL code
  • Familiarity with  using a structured approach in a team such as A3 to problem solve
