Western Digital is looking for a Director of IT Compliance.  This role will report directly to the VP, Head of Information Security and will focus on the annual SOX audit, PCI compliance, and other areas of compliance related to IT and security.  The qualified candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge of IT General Controls, IT Application Controls, PCI Compliance, and will have worked within a large corporation collaborating with IT, the business, and Internal and External Audit teams.  The ideal candidate must be familiar with on premise and SAAS based IT platforms, especially ERP, financial, and HR systems.  The ideal person will have setup or maintained the SDLC and other key controls as identified by our audit programs. 


The Director of IT Compliance is responsible training the IT team on necessary key controls and audit processes, building and maintaining relationships with the internal and external audit teams, guiding the IT team in collection of evidence, and remediating exceptions and findings from audits. 


We are looking for somebody who can lead the IT audit team and provide big picture strategies to improve the program while developing the appropriate processes to ensure all areas of IT compliance are meeting requirements. 


  • Overall guidance, training and implementation of IT SOX policies and procedures. 
  • Very Strategic and Process Focused
  • Lead a team in the risk assessment, scoping, execution, reporting, issue management including impact assessments, and process improvements related to IT General Controls and IT Application Controls
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the internal audit team to address risks identified through various audits
  • Coordinate the schedule for the annual SOX audit to address all necessary scoping, testing, and remediation exercises between the various parties
  • Work to reduce the risks to the company by improving the control environments
  • Regularly report results to Sr Organizational Leadership and executive committees via written and oral updates 
  • Participate in the SOX steering committee
  • Actively manage, develop, and grow the skills and careers of those on the IT Audit team
  • Build the IT Compliance strategy and annual roadmaps





  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate focus area (Computer science, accounting, etc…) or equivalent experience in related fields
  • 8+ years’ experience in a large public company setting up and/or implementing IT SOX programs 
  • 4+ years’ managing personnel related to audit
  • Requires technical knowledge of IT controls and PCI compliance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills for various levels of reporting 
  • Effective and efficient time management and organizational skills 
  • Attention to detail a must while not losing site of the bigger picture
  • Ability to operate under pressure in a highly complex IT environment
