Bring your passion for leading HR Technology Strategy to Western Digital.In this strategic role you will be responsible for developing and guiding our overall HR Technology Strategy and Roadmap, including investment prioritization and alignment with HR people strategy and business priorities. Additionally, you will develop our overall HR Technology data governance guidelines and collaborate with IT  to establish protocols for data privacy and data quality programs. This is a highly impactful role, will serve to create a thoughtful framework to optimize our technology investments across all HR functions and global locations that better enables our people strategy needs and provides an amazing employee/manager experience in an evolving digital world. In this highly visible role you will partner and collaborate with our CHRO, HR Leadership Team, CIO, IT partners, HR Center of Excellence leads, system owners, subject matter experts and operational teams to drive HR’s Technology Strategy agenda and roadmap.

  • Develops an HR technology strategy for a SaaS/Cloud-based world where employee/manager experience is a differentiator for Western Digital
  • Defines an overall vision, strategy and roadmap for HR Technology
  • Assesses the underlying information and technology environment within the organization making recommendations regarding how to invest in and apply best practices and innovative technology solutions while achieving long-term scalability
  • Evaluates and recommends new tools and solutions (for example, RPA, AI, ML, etc.) to enhance end-user productivity and employee experience, as well as to improve the capabilities and usability of existing HR technology
  • Leads evaluations of HR technology and product due diligence for HR solutions using industry best practices benchmarks
  • Provides leadership on product/solution selection process, including engagement with RFPs, and evaluating pricing and technology solution offerings
  • Partners with HR, IT, Payroll, Finance and various vendors, and provides thought leadership in support of defining our HR systems configuration requirements aligned with our technology strategy and data governance guidelines
  • Builds and manages the HR Technology Investment Prioritization process
  • Designs overall HR Technology governance, structures, methods and tools to standardize the approach and management of HR systems owned by COEs
  • Partners with IT on HR system architecture and data flows; developing HR application mapping and data lineage process
  • Performs leadership role in identifying opportunities for further leveraging SaaS/Cloud-based HR technology solutions and works with the COEs to define HR business cases and return on investment for migration where appropriate
  • Leverages vendor relationships to improve our technology offerings
  • Stays abreast of existing and emerging HR technology, industry trends and relevant business developments associated with current and new technologies
  • Consults with COEs on business process and configuration requirements
  • Works to drive and implement best practices across all platforms, digital innovation, process automation, mobile enablement and emerging technologies that fit business requirements
  • Partners with IT, HR Operations and HR system owners and SMEs (i.e. Total Rewards, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development) on roadmap development and system initiatives
  • Partners with Legal and IT on data privacy initiatives and compliance with evolving global data requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field, Master’s degree desired
  • 10+ years of experience working with SaaS/Cloud-based HR technology solutions or related field, plus general familiarity with the future direction of these platforms and anticipated functionality in future releases
  • SaaS/Clout-based HR system implementation, vendor evaluation, selection and RFPs, vendor management, data governance and system architecture experience
  • Solid understanding of HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT business processes and how they impact HR systems and technology
  • Ability to build key relationships influence key stakeholders with differing goals and priorities across levels from executives to analysts
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to distill and articulate key messages to executives, stakeholders and customers
  • Ability to translate business needs into HR technology solutions
  • Agile and able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Possess an orientation for results and excellence, inspiring confidence and demonstrating conceptual and analytical thinking, initiative and flexibility
  • Ability to drive results through teams that are not directly managed
  • Project/Change management skills are a plus
  • Understanding of DMAIC or Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus
