Our multi-tiered, distributed systems support millions of customers every month providing our customers with ever increasing ways of connecting to their WD, G-Technology, UpThere, and SanDisk products. The list continues to grow, and this means our systems and team must also grow to continue to deliver on the promise we make to our customers: Fast, secure, always available access. 
 
The Client Solutions division of Western Digital has an extremely large consumer footprint. This is an opportunity to instrument solutions that will impact millions of people. We are looking for a DevOps Architect with significant automation, programming and technical experience focused on delivering highly scalable cloud services and infrastructure.
 


Qualifications to include:

  • 10+ years experience as a hands-on technical leader in software development, enterprise systems administration/engineering, and/or DevOps platform administration/engineering. 
  • 5+ years experience building and managing enterprise-scale DevOps platforms including code repositories, automated CI/CD, containerization technologies, and infrastructure automation/provisioning.  
  • Strong understanding of cloud scale software development practices with emphasis on automation utilizing broad set of AWS services and related cloud tools. 
  • Ability to write scripted or compiled application and automation code with programming languages such as Shell, Python, Ruby, Perl, Java, C or equivalent.  
  • Experience with monitoring and log aggregating frameworks like CloudWatch, SumoLogic, Splunk, New Relic, AWS X-Ray, and APM tools. 
  • Experience with automation tools such as CloudFormation, TerraForm, Chef or Ansible in large production environments. 
  • Knowledge of IP networking, VPN's, DNS, load balancing and firewalls. 
  • Experience with development and automating test tools/frameworks. 
  • Understanding of microservices and distributed application architecture. 
  • Experience automating security tools into DevOps pipelines and software development process. 
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead effectively across organizations and projects. 
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about balancing business, product, and technical challenges.
