Western Digital Corporation is seeking for an experienced, passionate and visionary Senior-level Graphic Designer that possess excellent creative and management skills, is highly organized, willing to collaborate and work with tight deadlines in a fast pace environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Graphic Design, this on-site Designer will be responsible for the creation of both print and digital assets, leading mostly new product launch support including print, digital advertising, e-blasts, web banners, large format print, Amazon e-commerce support and other miscellaneous. You will work in all phases of the design processes to include strategy, concepting, hand-on design and final production.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

  • As a vital member of the Marketing Communications (MARCOM) group, provide creative services and graphic design support to the Product Marketing and Business Unit teams’ asset creation in collaboration with copywriters, project managers and web developers
  • Provide best-in-class design, always assuring brand standards and best practices
  • Build, edit, prepare and implement print and web-ready production files.
  • Collaborate with senior manager of design, fellow designers and copywriters to conceptualize artwork and creative assets
  • Lead and mentor Junior Designers
  • Work with leaders across various business organizations to understand and design experiences for their needs
  • Drive best-in-class standards development and design system maintenance
  • Plan, prepare for and direct photoshoots (product, location, studio, environmental/in-situ, etc) as needed
  • Present creative concepts/designs confidently to both internal MARCOM group senior leadership as well as product marketing and BU senior leadership
  • Production and file preparation as needed

 

 

REQUIRED:

 

  • 8+ years of creative in-house or ad agency experience

  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design or related field

  • Have a well-rounded portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for color theory, composition, layout and overall crisp execution across both print and digital media

  • Strong understanding of typography, branding, and layout principles

  • Solid experience with image compression, file correction, and optimization techniques

  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud

  • High-level photo-editing and retouching ability

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentations skills

  • Apply a solutions-oriented, proactive, and flexible approach

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience working within a project management workflow system (Workfront, JIRA, Asana, Basecamp, etc)

  • Pixel-perfect attention to detail

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Receptive to feedback

  • Experience designing within the Amazon ecosystem (Amazon Marketing Services, Vendor Central, etc) a strong plus

  • Experience creating infographics and visual assets across social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) while understanding applicable standards and limitations a plus
