The Community Relations Specialist will primarily oversee the planning and execution of employee volunteer events and global corporate philanthropy programs of the Community Relations Team.

Responsibilities include developing strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations, cultivation of corporate and community engagement teams, and implementation of other corporate stewardship programs. This position will involve cross-functional teamwork to implement strategies that foster year-round corporate and community engagement around employee volunteer activities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and execute frequent employee volunteer events and department team building events across Western Digital’s offices
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with non-profit organizations to identify U.S. and global community engagement opportunities
  • Promote U.S. and global employee volunteer opportunities by establishing internal partnerships within Western Digital’s corporate departments, divisions and business units 
  • Provide leadership to special projects as assigned, including logistics support for employee volunteer activities, planning, and event development
  • Contribute content to community relations related communications
  • Track program data, analyze results, and provide insightful recommendations for improvement
  • Systems administration of the volunteer management system
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent with 3+ years in corporate giving and employee engagement
  • Experience planning and executing events of all sizes
  • Strong networking and relationship development skills to nurture prospective corporate and community partnerships
  • Project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Possess excellent oral, written, and listening skills with the ability to work and communicate with various partners in diverse settings and cultures.
  • Must have the interpersonal skills to engage employee involvement as volunteers
  • Outstanding team player that is able to execute with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be knowledgeable of community resources and needs
