ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support communications managers with core media relations functions including materials development, planning, media outreach, monitoring, reporting, reviews and events
  • Collaborate and communicate with multiple cross-functional teams to align on content and campaigns
  • Proactively target, pitch, and secure media coverage for Western Digital
  • Support regional teams in providing content for media outreach
  • Identify trends within the media landscape, sharing them with the team and recommending pivot strategies based on these trends
  • Use metrics and analytics to build business case, provide insight

REQUIRED:


  • 3+ years of public relations/analyst relations experience in a large company or an agency
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication and presentation skills•Detail oriented and organized
  • Media relations including press material development, pitching regional and national outlets and planning
  • Experience working with technology and gaming media; including influencers and bloggers
  • Energetic, creative, positive and proactive. Works with a sense of urgency. Manages projects requiring the position to direct, lead, influence and negotiate with others
  • Ability to work with a large number of stakeholders and manage deadlines on multiple projects
  • Strong analytical skills to make data-driven decisions. Deals with a variety of abstract and concrete variables
  • Intermediate skills in MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field
