  • Leads Zero-Based Budgeting and Financial planning for HDD R&D
  • Distill and synthesize tactical and strategic business information into Financial forecasts
  • Plan, create, and manage the HDD R&D financial forecasts (OPEX and CAPEX)
  • Produce as required: monthly Forecasts; R6Q Forecasts; Annual Operating Plan "AOP" 
  • Conduct a monthly Forecast Review with HDD R&D Functional VPs
  • Generate monthly actual vs. forecast reports, analyze output, and address variances
  • Provide direction and support to the HDD R&D Materials planning process
  • Collaboratively engage Program and Functional Managers to forecast Material/NRE expenses
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate Cost Center structure (OBS) in Clarity
  • As required, train managers and employees in the use of Clarity
  • Lead and coordinate the quarterly headcount forecasting process
  • Maintain accurate HDD BU headcount, including FTEs, Interns, and Contractors
  • Engage with BU Functions and Finance to reconcile budgeted headcount to actual headcount
  • As required, work with Development and Product Marketing to support Business Case creation
  • Develop a basic understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework at the Portfolio Level
  • Apply this understanding to design, develop, and test Agile Release Train forecasting model
  • Drive continuous process improvement in the forecasting process to improve accuracy
  • Seek tool improvements and interfaces with existing corporate tools to manage transaction cost
  • 5+ years of experience as either Financial or Business Analyst 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, MBA preferred
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills required
  • Demonstrable OPEX management experience in a product development context, including materiel planning and inventory reconciliation processes
  • Working knowledge of Financial tools, such as Oracle Cloud and Workday
  • Firm understanding of the Clarity Database model and underlying data structures
  • Ability to interact with Clarity users to discuss and document business requirements, and then translate those requirements into a working application
  • Ability to communicate effectively and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment where multi-tasking and prioritizing is necessary
  • Strong MS SQL Server skills – writing SQL queries, Creating Stored Procedures, Functions, Views
